Key Personnel
Jay Abramovitz is the majority owner and President of the Software Technology Group. He received a BSEE from Rice University in 1981 and a MSEE from Vanderbilt University in 1986. His background is diverse, fitting well into a job in the consulting trade.
Mr. Abramovitz' work experience includes aerospace and flight simulation, flight weapons computers, laser birefringence, printer software, automated test, validation for semiconductor manufacturing QA for high resolution broadcast transmission and distance learning systems, development of medical pacemakers, medical monitors, medical dialysis machines, medical gait analysis for evaluation of knee recovery, and ADHD behavioral screening and diagnostic software.
Mr. Abramovitz’ present role is in management and assurance of project development.
Randie Peterson is the minority owner and Vice President of the Software Technology Group. She received a BSCSE from the Oregon Institute of Technology in 1988. Ms. Peterson has worked extensively in programming and database creation and support. She has also worked extensively on management and training of Software Technology Group staff.
Ms. Peterson has the ability to make engineering accessible and understandable to managers who control funding. In addition, her background in medical development and FDA processes has lead to alliances with several process-oriented companies. STG has acquired and retained its strong, expanding and expert-level engineering staff primarily because of Ms. Peterson's leadership.
Tom Baker is the Director of Engineering for the Software Technology Group. He received a BSCS in 1980 and a MSCS in 1986, both from Oregon State University.
Mr. Baker has previously worked as Director of Engineering at Microtek International, and has extensive project management and software development skills.
Mr. Baker oversees many of STG's ongoing in-house projects.
Randy Smith worked for STG as a project manager for several years, and recently to STG returned after a 4 year sojourn and he has taken on the role of Director or Automation Control.
Mr. Smith is a consummate manager who works equally well with clients and employees, and ensures issues do not slip through the cracks.
Mr. Smith is a project manager with skills in C/C++, RUP and QA and has an extensive background in the semiconductor and automation control industries.
